Asynchronous & Synchronous

Learning

Our online courses are taught using Asynchronous and Synchronous teaching methods. Specific courses will use a combination of both methods. Here we look at the differences between Asynchronous and Synchronous learning for our online students.

Asynchronous Learning

How does it work ?

The tutor and student are not engaged and working together at the same time. The tutor sets tailored learning units for their student, who can complete their study, exercises and assignments in their own time, known as self-paced learning. Interaction between the tutor and student takes place via email/online messaging, which can also involve audio and video recordings.

Synchronous Learning

The tutor and student are engaged in real time live interactions online, using a video conferencing platform.
